A gorgeous spray tan starts before you step into the booth. Follow these simple steps for smoother, more even color and longer-lasting results.
24–48 HOURS BEFORE
EXFOLIATE
Gently exfoliate your entire body, paying extra attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees, ankles and feet. Removing dead skin helps your tan develop more evenly.
SHAVE OR WAX
Complete shaving or waxing at least 24 hours before your spray tan whenever possible. This gives your skin time to settle before your appointment.
PLAN BEAUTY SERVICES FIRST
Schedule manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, waxing and other treatments before your spray tan—not afterward.
THE DAY OF YOUR TAN
COME CLEAN + DRY
For the best application, arrive with clean skin free of:
- Lotion or body oils
- Deodorant
- Perfume or body spray
- Makeup
- Self-tanner
- Heavy skincare products

WHAT TO WEAR
Choose dark, loose-fitting clothing and easy shoes or sandals for after your spray. Avoid tight leggings, bras, socks, restrictive shoes or anything that may rub against freshly sprayed skin. And if rain is in the forecast, bring an umbrella!
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
We’ll help you select the VersaSpa color level that best matches the look you want—from a subtle glow to a deeper bronze. Before entering the booth, you’ll receive instructions for protecting dry areas and positioning yourself during each spray pass. Then step inside, follow the booth prompts and let VersaSpa do the rest.
ONE LAST THING…
After your spray tan, avoid water, sweating, swimming and showering during your recommended development period. Your color will continue developing after you leave Sunsations.
